cmf x DESIGN = EVERYTHING (PART TWO)

We interviewed our team before about the importance of CMF (Color, Material, and Finish) in product development. It plays a huge role in brand recognition and becomes the distinguishing factor between prototype and market readiness.

For designers, CMF allows us to communicate who the brand is for, how their product is used, and proper market positioning. CMF provides high value for startups because, similar to how people give off first impressions, it is essential for them to recognize and treat their brand as a human interaction.

In June, Hatch Duo co-founder Jon participated in a virtual lecture for Victoria Davila’s Materials and Process class at Academy of Art University. He goes over a half-dozen reasons why CMF plays a critical role in product design and how he (and the Hatch Duo team) approach CMF throughout the design process. Check it out on our YouTube channel
